Gamus (Gam, Gamonius), Abt von Bretigny, in der Diöcese Soissons, lebte nach Migne am Ende des 7. Jahrhunderts, und man glaubt, daß die Eltern des hl. Hubertus seinen Bitten die Geburt dieses gottgefälligen Kindes verdanken. Mabillon sah in dem dortigen Kloster sein Bildniß. (Conf. Acta Sanctorum Maji VII. 274.) Wann er verehrt wird, haben wir in den uns zugänglichen Quellen nirgends finden können. (Mg.)
