S. Alnothus, Erem. M. (27. Febr.) Der hl. Alnothus war Eremit in England und hütete zuerst bei der hl. Werburga das Vieh, erwählte aber hernach das Einsiedlerleben und wurde zuletzt bei Bugbroc um das Jahr 705 von den Straßenräubern erschlagen. Sein Leib wurde nach Stow in der Grafschaft Northampton gebracht, wo der Heilige auch als Martyrer verehrt wird.
