2S. Acepsimas, Presb. Erem. (3. Nov.) Der hl. Priester Acepsimas lebte gegen den Anfang des 5. Jahrhunderts in Syrien und bewohnte als Einsiedler ein kleines Haus, das er gänzlich abschloß, um von allen Besuchen und Gesprächen der Menschen verschont zu bleiben. Auf die freundliche Zusprache seines Bischofs ließ er sich zum Priester weihen, starb aber kurze Zeit darnach, worauf die Bewohner der Nachbarschaft herbeieilten und sich um seine hl. Ueberreste stritten. Endlich wurde der Streit entschieden, da ein Mensch behauptete, er habe von dem Heiligen den Auftrag erhalten, ihn da zu begraben, wo er gestorben wäre. Von Theodoret sind mehrere Details über das Leben des hl. Acepsimas auf uns gekommen; sein Fest aber wird in den griechischen Menäen am angegebenen Tage gefeiert. Auf Gemälden wird er dargestellt, wie er in der Einöde sich aufhält, und um seinen Leib eine große Kette trägt. (Mg.)
