S. Manahen (24. Mai). Dieser hl. Manahen, dessen Name in der Apostelgeschichte vorkommt, führt den Beinamen »Prophet« und wird zu Antiochia in Syrien verehrt. Ob er aus der Zahl der 72 Jünger gewesen sei und zwar der Milchbruder des Herodes Antipas, ist ungewiß, wahrscheinlich aber, daß er in Antiochia als einflußreiches und thätiges Mitglied der dortigen ersten Christengemeinde bis an sein Ende gewirkt hat. Er findet sich auch im Mart. Rom. (V. 273).
