25Martha, V. O. S. Dom. (18. Dec.) Diese Martha, eine gottesfürchtige Jungfrau aus Gaeta, ging ebendaselbst in das Kloster der Dominicanerinnen. Der Herr führte sie durch die Schule schwerer körperlicher Leiden zur vollkommenen Verleugnung des eigenen Willens, so daß sie, obwohl ihr Leib nichts als Wunden trug und sie von Schmerzen völlig umrungen war, beständig Dankhymnen und Psalmen sang. Sie starb am 18. Dec. 1485. (March. VI. 215).
