S. Opportuna, Abb. (22. April). Diese Heilige war Abtissin aus dem Benedictiner-Orden zu Montreuil bei Seez und lebte im achten Jahrhundert. Sie war die Schwester des hl. Godegrandus von Seez (gest. im J. 770) und ist berühmt durch viele Wunder, welche an ihrem Grabe geschahen. Ihre Legende, die erst etwa hundert Jahre nach ihrem Tode verfaßt wurde, ist öfter herausgegeben worden. Sicher ist nur ihr strenges, abgetödtetes und heiliges Leben, sowie die Uebertragung der Leiche ihres Bruders nach Montreuil. Bei Migne ist ihr seliges Hinscheiden gleichfalls in's J. 770 gesetzt. Ihre Reliquien kamen zuerst nach Moussy, dann nach Senlis. Sie wird als Abtissin, meistens in Verehrung der hl. Mutter Gottes, abgebildet. (III. 61.)
