2S. Aregius (Aridius), Ep. (16. Aug.) Der hl. Aregius, (frz. Arège oder Arey), war Bischof von Nevers (Nivernum, Noviodunum Aeduorum) und lebte im 6. Jahrhundert. Von ihm ist, da die ersten Acten verloren gegangen, Näheres nicht bekannt, als daß er den Concilien von Orleans im J. 549 und von Paris im J. 551 beiwohnte. Für sein Begräbniß bezeichnete er eine Kapelle, bei welcher die zwei hhl. Einsiedler Euphrasius und Auxilius gewohnt hatten, und die zu Desize (Disesia), einer kleinen Stadt an der Loire (nach Andern auf einer Insel der Loire), unweit Nevers lag. Er starb in der Mitte des 6. Jahrhunderts (nach Butler am 16. August 558).
