2S. Procla, auch Procula, Proscula, Claudia Procula, soll nach Calmet (Dict. bibl.) die Gemahlin des Pilatus geheißen haben, die ihm nach Matth. 27,19, da er eben auf dem Richterstuhle saß, sagen ließ, er möchte mit diesem Gerechten nichts zu schaffen haben; denn sie habe heute seinetwegen im Traum viel gelitten. Die meisten heil. Väter glauben, dieser Traum sei dem Weibe von Gott zur Warnung für Pilatus gegeben worden, der sie aber aus Furcht vor dem Kaiser nicht beachtete. Einige hl. Väter glauben, Procla sei später Christin und dann unter die Heiligen aufgenommen worden. †
