S. Sigon (19. Sept.), ein Abt zu Sigestre, der auch Seganus und Sequanus genannt wird. Der Bischof von Langres weihte ihn zum Priester, ehe er das vorgeschriebene Alter erreicht hatte. In Wissenschaft und Tugend vorgeschritten, baute er sich ein Kloster in dem Forste Sigestre. Die gute Zucht, welche hier aufblühte, erwarb ihm bald großen Ruhm und zog viele Schüler dahin. Seine Heiligkeit und die sie begleitende Wundergabe bewog den frommen König Guntram, ihm bedeutende Güter zu schenken. Der heil. Sigon starb noch bei Lebzeiten Guntrams, Königs von Burgund, am 19. Sept. 580. (Burg. II. 233.)
