Sophronia

Sophronia

Sophronia, eine Einsiedlerin aus Tarent, die ihr ganzes Leben in der Wüste zubrachte. Ihren Namen und ihre kurze Lebensgeschichte schrieb sie in die Rinde eines Baumes. Als sie starb, kamen die Vögel herbei und deckten ihren Leichnam mit Gras, Blumen und grünem Laube zu. So findet sie sich in der Solitudo foeminarum, S. 32, abgebildet. Die uns zugänglichen Martyrologien kennen sie nicht.
