S. Attracta (Tarahata), V. (9. Febr.) Die hl. Atracta (oder Tarahata), eine königliche Jungfrau in Irland, floh, um der Ehe zu entgehen, in die Provinz Connaught, folgte ihrem hl. Bruder (oder Vetter) Cömanus und wurde vom hl. Patrizius Gott geweiht, wobei sie den Schleier vom Himmel erhielt. Auf ihre Fürbitte geschahen viele Wunder. So tödtete sie einen furchtbaren Drachen mit dem Zeichen des hl. Kreuzes und führte ein durch die Uebermacht des Feindes in einer engen Gegend eingesperrtes Heer sicher durch einen See, der unter ihren Füßen austrocknete. Ein andermal belud sie die wilden Hirsche, die ihrem Winke folgten, mit Holz, das sie ihnen mit keinem andern Bande aufband, als mit ein Paar von ihren Haaren, die sie sich zu diesem Zwecke ausriß. (Menzels Symb. II. 481). Sie starb im 5. Jahrh.
