78Thomas Sanchez (19. Mai), ein Priester der Gesellschaft Jesu, war zu Cordova geboren. In seiner Jugend stammelte er und nahm, weil er nichts sehnlicher wünschte, als in der Gesellschaft Jesu zu wirken, seine Zuflucht zu Maria, durch deren Fürbitte er auch von diesem Uebel befreit wurde. Im 16. Jahre trat er in die Gesellschaft ein, und zeichnete sich durch Geschicklichkeit und heiligen Wandel vor den übrigen Novizen aus. Er übte buchstäblichen Gehorsam, kasteite sich sehr strenge und starb nach unsäglichen Arbeiten 60 Jahre alt zu Granada im Jahre 1610. (Menol. Soc. J. pag. 38.)
