4Alphonsus de Burgos, Mon. (23. Jan.) Alphons von Burgos war Mönch zu Montserrat (Mons Serratus) im östlichen Spanien, und bekleidete vor seinem Eintritt in's Kloster lange Zeit eine der ansehnlichsten Stellen am Hofe des Kaisers Karl V.; allein, von der Gnade gerührt, entschloß er sich, zum Erstaunen der Welt, arm dem armen Heilande nachzufolgen, und nahm den Habit im genannten Kloster, eben zu jener Zeit, wo die neuen Reformstatuten eingeführt wurden. Er starb im Rufe der Heiligkeit, die auch durch Zeichen sich kund gab, im Jahre 1524. (Buc. Suppl.)
