Jesus, S. (1)

1S. Jesus, (21. al. 22. Juni), mit dem Beinamen Justus, d.i. »der Gerechte«, wird vom hl. Apostel Paulus (Kol. 4,11) unter seinen Mitarbeitern im Reiche Gottes genannt, die ihm zum Troste gewesen sind. Einige machen ihn zum ersten Bischofe von Eleutheropolis, einer nicht sehr weit von Jerusalem gelegenen Stadt, die nach Dr. Gratz (§. 159. S. 305) auch Betogabra hieß. Nach den Bollandisten ist dieser Jesus Justus wohl zu unterscheiden von Joseph (Joses) Justus, einem Verwandten des Herrn, welcher nach Apstg. 1,23 neben dem hl. Matthias zum Apostel vorgeschlagen wurde. Nach ihrer Ansicht ist unser Jesus Justus nicht unter die 72 Jünger Christi zu zählen, wenn er auch im Verzeichnisse derselben angegeben ist; wohl aber gehöre Joses Justus unter die 72 Jünger, mit welchem unser Jesus Justus wegen Namensähnlichkeit confundirt worden sei.
