610Johannes de India, (24. Juni etc.), auch Niger genannt, ein Aethiopier aus dem 3. Orden des hl. Franciscus, hat mit mehreren Andern in der Stadt Armalech in der Tartarei durch Tscherkessen im J. 1342 den Martyrtod erlitten. In Art. Mart. heißt er »selig.« In Hub. Men. steht er auch am 29. Nov. und 7. Dec. Mit ihm identisch ist auch ohne Zweifel der am 25. Juni im Kalender des 3. Ordens und in Born's »Seraphischem Sternenhimmel« als, »selig« angegebene, Johannes Niger. Vgl.
